Guardianships and protective placements are handled in both the Juvenile and Probate Courts. Circumstances of the action will determine in which court your matter will be heard.

Juvenile Court  

Guardianship of MINOR'S PERSON is handled in the Juvenile Court and is filed in Room JC-103 at the reception desk at 521 Riverview Avenue. Probate Court  

Guardianship of the MINOR'S ESTATE is handled by the Probate Court and is filed in Room C-226 at the Waukesha County Courthouse.

Guardianship of an ADULT INCOMPETENT'S PERSON OR ESTATE is handled by the Probate Court and is filed in Room JC-103 at the reception desk at 521 Riverview Avenue.

Protective Placement of an ADULT INCOMPETENT is handled in the Probate Court and is filed in Room JC-103 at the reception desk at 521 Riverview Avenue.
