Waukesha County HOME Consortium HOME-ARP 

Waukesha County will be accepting applications beginning September 28, 2023 for HOME-ARP (American Rescue Plan) Program funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Waukesha County has been awarded $5,293,334 in HOME ARP funds for the HOME Consortium (Jefferson, Ozaukee, Washington and Waukesha Counties). This funding will assist people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and other vulnerable populations through housing, rental assistance, supportive services, and non-congregate shelter, with the goal of reducing homelessness and increasing housing stability.

Three applications are available:

  1. Supportive Services $133,000 available for 2024 (with the possibility of contract renewal for 6 years until 2029)
  2. Rental Housing Development $2,911,334
  3. Non-Congregate Shelter Development $794,000

In addition, Nonprofit agencies can apply for Operating Assistance ($132,333) and Capacity Building Assistance ($132,333) through the Supportive Services application.

Deadline for Supportive Services application submission is Friday, October 27, 2023 at 4:30 p.m.

Deadline for Rental Housing Development application and Non-Congregate Shelter Development application submission is Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 4:30 p.m.

Waukesha County, in partnership with Community Advocates, Inc., is administering an Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) to help people experiencing financial hardship, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to stay in their homes. For more information, click here.

Waukesha County’s Division of Community Development administers the CDBG and HOME programs from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which are used to provide decent housing, establish and maintain a suitable living environment and expand economic opportunities, particularly for low and moderate-income persons.  Waukesha County uses these community development resources to fund programs, services and projects that provide affordable housing, emergency shelter, economic development, infrastructure improvement, neighborhood revitalization and public service activities, among others.
