Inmate Account Deposits:
Money may be deposited into inmate accounts via U.S. mail (see information below) or utilizing the public lobby kiosk. The public lobby kiosk is available to access during normal visitation hours as identified above. Cash may be deposited, with the exception of $1.00 bills, as well as utilizing a credit card (Master Card or Visa) or debit card. The money is deposited immediately into the inmate's account and is available for use upon deposit. Deposits made utilizing the kiosk will result in a service fee to the kiosk vendor for each deposit as follows:
Cash deposit - $3.25 service fee (if $50.00 cash is deposited, inmate will receive $46.75 in their account); $500.00 limit
Credit/Debit Card deposit - $4.95 service fee (if $50.00 is charged to the credit card, inmate will receive $45.05 in their account); $100.00 limit
The Waukesha County Jail will not accept inmate funds addressed to a specific inmate. Inmate funds are to be mailed separately from inmate personal mail. No cash or personal checks will be accepted. All inmate funds must be in the form of a certified check, cashier's check, or money order and be addressed to:

Once the funds have been received and posted to the inmate account, the inmate will receive a receipt for the transaction.
The other option available to make a deposit on an inmate's account, in addition to mailing funds for an inmate, is via SmartDeposit.

There is a fee associated with making a deposit on an inmate's account using SmartDeposit. The fee is determined by the company and is not set by the Waukesha County Jail.
Bail Posting:
During normal business hours, bail set in a Waukesha County Criminal/Traffic Court may be posted in the Waukesha County Courthouse, Business Center, Room 112. All other bail postings will be handled through the Sheriff's Department. The Department accepts cash, money orders, cashier's checks, Visa, Discover and MasterCard.
Location and Directions to the Waukesha County Jail:
The Waukesha County Jail is located behind the Waukesha County Courthouse in the Law Enforcement Center at 515 West Moreland Boulevard in Waukesha Wisconsin.
Take I-94 and exit at highway "J" (also called 164). Turn south on highway J for approximately 2 miles until you reach W Moreland Blvd and turn right. The Waukesha County Courthouse will be on your immediate left hand side. Parking for the Courthouse and Jail is primarily in front of the Courthouse. Please be conscious of the various "90 minute" parking restrictions throughout the area.
