Waukesha County’s Division of Community Development administers the CDBG and HOME programs from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which are used to provide decent housing, establish and maintain a suitable living environment and expand economic opportunities, particularly for low and moderate-income persons. Waukesha County uses these community development resources to fund programs, services and projects that provide affordable housing, emergency shelter, economic development, infrastructure improvement, neighborhood revitalization and public service activities, among others.
Waukesha County, in collaboration with the HOME Consortium, the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, the City of West Allis, and the City of Wauwatosa, has prepared a 2020-2024 Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice Plan. This document describes the nature and extent of fair housing concerns, and the impediments to fair housing choice that the residents of the region encounter. The Regional Analysis of Impediments can be viewed here.
