Home Delivered Meals
Home delivered meals are available to homebound persons age 60 and older and their spouse, regardless of their age. The person must be a resident of Waukesha County, unable to prepare adequate nutritious meals, and unable to attend a senior dining center. Meals are delivered between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Program participant must be present to accept the meal at delivery.
Application and Assessment
To apply for home delivered meals, call the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Waukesha County (ADRC) at (262) 548-7848. Staff will ask for information needed to complete an application form. The ADRC will process the request and schedule an ADRC staff member to conduct an in-home assessment. The assessment provides information to determine if the person meets the eligibility requirements for meals to begin. The applicant will be notified once eligibility is determined.
Funding and Donations
Limited government funding covers a portion of the meal costs, and client donations go a long way to help maintain the meal program. At the time of the in-home assessment a suggested donation will be discussed. A monthly donation statement will be mailed to the client indicating the approximate value of the meals served and a confidential donation can be mailed to the ADRC office. Client donations allow the ADRC to provide services at current levels. No eligible client will be denied service because of inability to contribute.
