Juvenile Detention Services for Waukesha County Youth


As of October 1, 2021, the Waukesha County Juvenile Detention Center is officially closed. Male and female youth, 12-17 years old, from Waukesha County who pose a safety risk to the community are held under contract in secure detention facilities operated by neighboring counties.

Waukesha County will continue to intake and assess youth who come into contact with law enforcement to evaluate their danger to society. The Waukesha County Juvenile Court Judge will continue to deliver dispositional decisions to the youth from Waukesha County detained in other county detention centers.

Shelter care is provided at Lad Lake to adolescents who requre services in a non-locked temporary living space. Lad Lake is under contract with Waukesha County.

Impact 2-1-1 continues to provide informational referrals for youth with mental health and substance use issues.
The 9-1-1 Call Center continues to assist citizen callers with emergencies.
