Runway Safety Area Project Update: March 20th, 2026

The Runway 10/28 Safety Area Project is underway, and we are preparing for airfield work to begin on March 30, 2026. This is an impactful project, and our team is planning carefully to mitigate disruptions as much as possible.

When the project is complete, the airport will have:

  • A new Automated Weather Observation System (AWOS)
  • More usable pavement on Runway 10/28 with the displaced threshold area
  • An extension on Taxiway A
  • New lighting
  • Work completed on the Navigation Aids (NAVAIDs) on Runway 10/28

·         March 30, Taxiway A from A2 to the approach end of 10 will be closed.

o   Back taxi operations in effect for full-length departures on Runway 10.

·         April 13 and 14 Runway 10/28 will be closed for remarking.

o   All FAA NAVAIDs will be shut off on Runway 10/28
