How to apply:

Waukesha County Department of Public Works processes permits using Oxcart Permits, a web-based permitting system.  No paper, email, or faxed applications will be accepted.

Applicants must register via the Oxcart website.  Registration is free. 

Approximate review time: 1-2 weeks, depending on workload.

Permit applications are reviewed in the order they are received.

A permit is required for work in County Highway right of way for

• replacement of culvert
• construction of new retaining wall, sidewalk, or path
• installation of sign, traffic signal
• repaving of an existing driveway (Sec. 15-53 (a))
