Waukesha County Recycling Program Receives DNR's Recycling Excellence Award for Innovation

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has awarded Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use the 2020 Recycling Excellence Award for Innovation for the creation of a mobile application to address contamination in residential curbside recycling bins.

Celebrate America Recycles Day with Waukesha County

Waukesha County invites residents to celebrate recycling by taking part in the state and national ‘America Recycles Day’ campaigns. Starting November 1, residents can take advantage of free recycling facility tours and online opportunities to learn about recycling. These events lead up to America Recycles Day on November 15.

Waukesha County Parks Announces Special Archery Hunt in Nashotah Park for Deer Herd Control

In a continued effort to reduce the deer population in Nashotah Park, Waukesha County will open a limited archery hunt for the third year within the park to hunters that are licensed and have deer harvest authorization (formerly known as deer tags) through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR). The special archery hunt will take place from November 27 through December 17, 2019 in Nashotah Park, located at W330 N5113 County Highway C.

Special One-Day Electronics and Appliance Recycling Event

New Environmental  Education Program Kicks Off in Waukesha County

On Tuesday, September 12, 2017 a new environmental education program kicks off for K—12 students in Waukesha County. The program is a collaboration between Waukesha County, the School District of Waukesha and Carroll University in order to create a regional environmental education model that meets state and national academic standards.
