– Waukesha County invites residents to celebrate recycling by taking part in the state and national ‘America Recycles Day’ campaigns. Starting November 1, residents can take advantage of free recycling facility tours and online opportunities to learn about recycling. These events lead up to America Recycles Day on November 15.
“America Recycles Day is an excellent opportunity to remind residents about the environmental and economic benefits of recycling,” said Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow. “Waukesha County residents are doing a fantastic job of conserving natural resources, while providing tax relief through their efforts to recycle the proper materials in the proper way.”
Free Recycling Facility Tours
Two opportunities are provided for individuals 10 years of age or older to tour the City of Milwaukee/Waukesha County Materials Recovery Facility for free each month. The tours are the first Tuesday of each month at noon and the third Thursday each month at 4:30 PM. Registration and closed-toe shoes are required for this hour-long, hard hat tour of the facility. To register for a free tour, visit www.kgmb.org/tours-at-kgmb, click “Register Online” and select “Adult Classes”.
Starting November 1st, the Waukesha County Recycles Facebook page will take part in Wisconsin’s statewide campaign for apartment complex residents and landlords by featuring recycling tips each day leading up to November 15 and using the hashtag #AmericaRecyclesDay.
