Why aren't all Waukesha County properties open to hunting?

  • When deciding what lands to open there are many things park staff needs to consider, including stipulations from the donor or seller, access to the sites, percent of the area that is remote enough for safe hunting, and local ordinances to name a few.

Can I use a trail camera?

  • If you would like to place a trail camera in any Waukesha County Park, you must first apply for a Trail Camera Permit. Please apply, using the registration and transaction process. Upon County approval, you will then be emailed an official Trail Camera Placement Permit, which will include a Permit Number. This number MUST be added to the trail camera that you place (in a permanent fashion, such as engraving, permanent marker, etc.). At that time, you can place your camera in the location agreed upon. Your permit is good for one year from the application date, only in the location that you specified in the application. After one year, if you wish to continue, or if at any time you choose to move the camera, you must complete another application.
