Large Site Stormwater Permit Submittal

A large site stormwater permit and management plan is required if:

  • The development creates 1/2 acre of impervious surface
  • The site has over 1 acre of grading
  • The project involves subdivision plat
  • The project involves the construction of any new public or private road. "Road" as used in the ordinance means any access drive that serves more than two residences or businesses
  • The land development activity produces runoff that may harm downstream property, resources, or public safety

Waukesha County is considered an Authorized Local Program (ALP) and will provide DNR NOI coverage for projects with grading over 1 acre.

Consider discussing the project/site with LRD staff before starting an application.

Preliminary Plan Review

Preliminary plan reviews help staff to review plans for proposed developments or projects. They provide initial comments and approvals on stormwater management, erosion control, and platting for stormwater manangement. By providing a preliminary plan you can avoid completing additional work/planning that does not meet the requirements of the Waukesha County Stormwater Ordinance and supporting policies.
