Taste & Odors

Taste and odor problems are often caused by tannins, sulfur, sulfur bacteria, iron or iron bacteria. Tests by private laboratories can help evaluate these non-health related water quality problems. However, a change in taste, odor, color or appearance could indicate a more serious contamination problem and the need for additional testing.
