Waukesha County Reaches Vaccine Milestone: More Vaccines Administered Than Total COVID-19 Cases in the County

Waukesha County has reached a milestone in its vaccination efforts. As of Wednesday, February 3, more doses of vaccine have been administered to residents to protect them against COVID-19 than have been documented as infected with the virus.

“We are still early in the vaccination process, but we should recognize our successes as they occur,” said Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow. “We expect to meet more milestones at an increasing pace in the days and weeks ahead. Waukesha County is growing its network of vaccination sites, with the Expo Center opening next week, and more than 70 registered vaccinators who will be able to assist in this historic effort once more vaccine becomes available.”

As of today, 43,752 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to Waukesha County residents. 33,815 of the doses were administered as a resident’s first shot of vaccine. 9,919 doses were administered as second shots. 18 doses were considered invalid. The total number of COVID-19 cases confirmed in Waukesha County throughout the pandemic is 39,376 cases. Waukesha County’s vaccination data is sourced directly from the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR). This information is updated weekly on the Waukesha County COVID-19 dashboard at www.waukeshacounty.gov/covid19.
