The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department typically opens recruitment twice a year for Deputy Sheriff - Law Enforcement Academy Sponsorship. All applicants must successfully complete the extensive screening process which includes:

Physical ability test (PAT)

Physical Readiness Test (PRT) - Non-certified candidates only

•Polygraph - Potential topics may include drug use, illegal activities, theft, job performance/employment, driving habits, life history, integrity, etc.

•Medical examination

•Psychological examination

•Drug screen
