Once a party has fulfilled the judgment that was made against him/her in a court action, the party who won is required to file paperwork with the court to finalize the action. Generally the creditor will complete the form and send it to the debtor and the debtor will file and pay the fee to satisfy the judgment or lien. The packet below also covers options available to debtors (persons who owe the money or property) who have had their debts discharged in bankruptcy court.
Satisfaction of Judgment: A Satisfaction of Judgment is a document signed by the judgment creditor indicating that the judgment has been paid in full or in part.
Full Satisfaction of Lien: A full Satisfaction of Lien is a document signed by a lien holder in which he releases the property subject to the lien.
Order for Satisfaction of Judgment Due to Bankruptcy: A document signed by the Judge to order the satisfaction of judgment(s) due to discharge in bankruptcy.
Satisfaction forms are available in the Clerk of Court's office, Room C-167 of the Courthouse, or can be downloaded and printed below.
Additional forms can be found by visiting the Wisconsin Court System.
Obtain a blank Satisfaction of Judgment or Lien form - one form for each Satisfaction. The Satisfaction of Judgment or Lien form must be completed by the creditor or lien holder.
The completed original Satisfaction of Judgment or Lien form must be filed with the Clerk of Circuit Court in Room C-167 of the Courthouse for the Clerk's office to satisfy the judgment or lien.
