The ADA prohibits discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities and requires employers to provide reasonable accommodations when doing so does not create an undue hardship. In some situations, a leave of absence or an extension of leave may be considered a reasonable accommodation.
General Eligibility:

-
The employee is otherwise qualified to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
Examples of Accommodations:
-
Leave of absence
-
Extended leave beyond FMLA (when appropriate)
-
Modified work schedule
-
Temporary job modifications
-
Return-to-work accommodations
Accommodation requests are evaluated through an interactive process between the employee, their supervisor, and Human Resources.
