Waukesha County Courthouse Operations (Services & Facilities) Updates

Waukesha County is committed to providing the highest level of service to our citizens and our community. During the COVID-19 public health emergency, Waukesha County will be providing services to the community as safely as possible. Please see the information below for information pertaining to changes in operations, hours updates and facility closures.

Effective Wednesday, March 25th, the Waukesha County Administrative Building will be closed to the public. 
A Business Center has been set up in the Courthouse to accommodate walk-in customers. Public access hours to the Courthouse will be limited from 10 am until 3 pm, and security screeners will begin asking addtional security related questions of all visitors. 

Please review any changes or closures listed below before visiting a Waukesha County facility.

Administration

Individuals in need of services or information from the department of Administration are strongly encouraged to call the department for assistance. 

  • Collections Division: For all collections related questions or to arrange a payment, please contact 262-548-7876 for assistance.
    • Making a payment via check:  The Collections Division can accept a payment via mail.  Checks, money orders, and/or cashier checks should have a “Pay to the Order” of the Waukesha County Collections Division and reference the account number or account name.  Checks can be mailed to:

    • Making a payment via credit/debit card:  Collections staff can accept a payment via phone.  Call 262-548-7876 to make a credit/debit card payment.
  • Human Resources Division: For all Human Resource questions or to make an appointment for assistance, please contact 262-548-7044. 
  • Purchasing Division: For all Purchasing questions, please contact 548-7888.  Purchasing continues to accept Bids/RFPs electronically and by mail in accordance with the time deadlines noted in posted Bids/RFPs.  We prefer that responses be submitted electronically or by mail in accordance with the Bid/RFP instructions.  However, if you intend to drop your bid off in person, call our Purchasing Division regarding up to date instructions regarding bid drop off process as access to County buildings may be altered.  Be alert for amendments to Bids/RFPs that may alter due dates, schedules, etc. during this evolving situation.

Corporation Counsel

Child Support Division

Individuals in need of services or information from the Child Support Division are strongly encouraged to call (414) 615-2586 or email childsupportcustomerservice@waukeshacounty.gov for assistance.

Customer Service is available in the Courthouse in Room C112 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.


Jail & Sheriff

Waukesha County Jail: Effective March 16th, 2020, public visitation to the jail has been suspended, inmates are encouraged to maintain contact with family & friends via telephone: https://www.waukeshacounty.gov/jail-division/

Sheriff's Department:
Effective March 19, 2020, the following are suspended:

  • Courtesy preliminary breath tests (PBTs) for court services and Wisconsin Community Services program participants
  • Citizen ride-alongs
  • Community appearances and presentations
  • Citizens' Academy
  • Non-criminal ID processes occurring Wednesdays from 1-3PM and Fridays 9-11AM
  • Coffee with a Cop (03/24/20)
  • Jail Visitations
  • CCW classes
  • Eddie Eagle Gun Safe Program

Health & Human Services

Health & Human Services Center will be open Mon/Weds/Thurs 10 am – 3 pm and Tues/Fri 8:30 am – 3 pm. 

All staff and visitors will be asked a series of COVID-19 screening questions and have their temperature taken prior to entering the HHS building.

The following HHS services are currently suspended or closed due to the public health crisis:

  • Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) Information and Assistance Call Center remains open.  Walk-in solutions are suspended.
  • Children’s Long-Term Support Services and Birth to 3 services are available but provided remotely.
  • Community-based Services continue with some limited capacity.
  • Economic Support Services are available over the phone or online. Walk-in services are limited.
  • Essential Services such as Adult Protective Services, Crisis Services, Child Welfare Services, and Youth Justice Services remain available with some services being provided remotely or over the phone.
  • Essential Services such as Inpatient Services, Juvenile Detention Services and Shelter Care services remain available with restrictions on visitors and access to buildings.
  • Genoa Pharmacy remains open. They are able to mail medications (and will deliver in emergencies). Call (262) 955-8811 for more information.
  • Health & Human Services Center will be open Mon/Weds/Thurs 10AM - 3PM, and Tues/Fri 8:30AM - 3PM.
  • Outpatient Mental Health & Substance Use Clinic has suspended seeing clients/patients face-to-face. The exception is a patient who needs a medication injection. You will be seen face-to-face at a new location, the Waukesha County Mental Health Center, 1501 Airport Rd, Waukesha. Call (262) 548-7666 for more information.
  • Open Access is still available although there will be changes to service. Call (262) 548-7666 for more information.
  • Public Health Walk-In Services, International Travel Clinics and STD Clinic Services are closed.
  • Public Health, Doors #2, will be closed to the public beginning March 24. The public will enter through Doors #1 into the Human Services Center and be re-routed to Public Health.
  • Records Services are available by phone, (262) 548-7212, with limited walk-in services. Submit records request via mail, fax, or at the front desk of the Human Services Center.   • Senior Dining Sites have been closed.  Home meal delivery continues operation.
  • Teen Court is closed.
  • Veterans’ Services Office is closed.
  • WIC services are available but most services are being provided remotely or over the phone.

Parks & Land Use

  • Permit and Licensing assistance: To help us serve you more efficiently, we strongly encourage our customers submit information for review digitally.  We have set up email systems for each of our permitting and licensing service areas.  They are:

  • Park Facility Availability (parks, ice arenas, golf courses, nature center, Expo Center) please visit our Alerts Page for updates. 
  • Park and Lake Access Annual Stickers can be conveniently purchased online.  
  • At this time our Household Hazardous Waste vendor has temporarily suspended residential collections. We, along with the vendor, will use the guidelines set by the Governor for evaluating when these sites will again be operational. Our HHW website will always contain the most up-to-date information.

Public Works
