How to Run for County Board
County Board Supervisors are elected in non-partisan races every two years in the spring of even years.
There are 25 supervisory districts in Waukesha County, and each district is represented by one elected resident. Enter your address in our Searchable Map to identify your district.
To be elected to the County Board, the following requirements apply:
- United States Citizenship
- At least 18 years of age
- Qualified elector of district at the time of filing nomination papers
- May not have been convicted of a felony in any court in the United States unless pardoned of the conviction.

Spring Primary – February 17, 2026 (if needed)
Spring Election – April 7, 2026

Please note all paperwork must be submitted to the County Clerk by the filing deadline, 1/6/2026.
The first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1, 2025. A minimum of 50 and
a maximum of 200 signatures are required.
The deadline to file nomination papers is 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.
Please note the Waukesha County Administrative Center, including the County Clerk's office, will be closed on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 and Thursday, January 1, 2026.
