As grilling season gets underway with the return of nice weather, Waukesha County reminds residents to 'Recycle Right’. Residents should not place propane cylinders, plastic bags, scrap metal, or other potentially hazardous items into their curbside recycling container.
“Improper disposal of non-recyclable materials in their curbside containers can be dangerous. These items not only cause costly damage to the equipment, but also puts collection and recycling facility workers at serious risk,” said Rebecca Mattano, Recycling & Solid Waste Supervisor for Waukesha County. “Much of this work is done by hand, creating a hazardous situation for people who are providing service to us all.”
