Highway Construction Planned in Waukesha County
Work runs from June 8 to August 28
Construction work on Bluemound Road is set to begin June 8, 2026, and continue through August 28, 2026. This Waukesha County road project covers CTH JJ (Bluemound Road) from CTH J (Pewaukee Road) to US-18 in the cities of Pewaukee and Waukesha and the Town of Brookfield. The work will include repairing curbs and storm inlets, removing the top layer of old pavement, and adding a new asphalt surface and fresh pavement markings.
While construction is underway, parts of Bluemound Road will be closed to through traffic at different times. Access to homes and businesses will remain open, but traffic patterns may shift during the project. Drivers should plan to use the posted detour route via CTH Y, CTH M, and CTH J/STH 164. The speed limit in the construction area will be reduced to 25 mph. Please slow down, follow posted signs, and allow extra travel time while work is underway.
