1,038 Jobs Pledged to Waukesha County Through Center for Growth's Economic Development Efforts


The Waukesha County Center for Growth’s Annual Report shows unprecedented economic growth and workforce development in Waukesha County. In 2019, more than 25 companies moved to or expanded operations in Waukesha County after working with the Center for Growth, investing more than $128M locally, and committing to create 1,038 new jobs. Additionally, the Center for Growth has assisted in connecting thousands of job seekers, students, educators, and businesses to strategic workforce assistance and career pathways.


“The commitment to create more than a thousand new jobs in our community is truly extraordinary,” said Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow. “Waukesha County believes in investing in economic development. The benefits of those investments are evident in the dedication to the region we’re seeing from businesses like Milwaukee Tool, Super Products, Paul Davis Restoration and Brelie Gear.”


In 2019, Center for Growth staff met with more than 300 companies and pre-ventures and worked with more than 100 firms on talent development. Over 3,000 students were exposed to career pathways through business and education partnership programs. Since May of 2016, the Center for Growth, has worked with more than 60 companies which have committed to over $210 million in capital expenditures and creation or retention of more than 1,900 jobs in start-ups, new locations and expansions. Center for Growth staff enhance economic development through talent development, attraction and retention, as well as business consulting through a partnership with the Small Business Development Center (SBDC). In partnership with the Waukesha County Business Alliance, the Center for Growth also provides Workforce Readiness Dashboards to measure how well schools are preparing students in career, college and life skills.
