Celebrate America Recycles Day with Waukesha County

Waukesha County invites residents to celebrate recycling by taking part in the state and nationwide ‘America Recycles Day’ campaigns. Starting November 1, residents can take advantage of free recycling facility tours and online opportunities to learn about recycling. These events lead up to America Recycles Day on November 15.

“America Recycles Day is an excellent opportunity to remind residents about the environmental and economic benefits of recycling,” said Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow. “Waukesha County residents are doing a fantastic job of conserving natural resources, while providing tax relief through their recycling efforts.”

Free Recycling Facility Tours

Two opportunities are provided for individuals 10 years of age or older to tour the City of Milwaukee/Waukesha County Materials Recovery Facility for free. The tours are Tuesday, November 6 at noon and Thursday, November 15 at 4:30 PM. Registration and closed-toe shoes are required for this hour-long, hard hat tour of the facility. To register for a free tour, visit www.kgmb.org.
