The Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use invites all interested parties to attend a public forum regarding the introduction of a countywide Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Strategic Plan. This event will be held on Tuesday, March 27th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Delafield Brewhaus, 3832 Hillside Drive, Delafield, WI 53018.
“The public forum will give the community an opportunity to learn more about the AIS program and provide input on strategic planning efforts,” said Perry Lindquist, Waukesha County Land Resources Manager.
The Waukesha County AIS Strategic Plan was developed to direct staff and volunteers to best manage invasive species in the county, with an overarching goal to prevent the spread of AIS. The plan lists priorities and action items to guide the implementation of the AIS program through 2023.
“It is great to see the level of support from local lake and conservation groups on this planning effort,” commented Dale Shaver, Director of Parks and Land Use. “That is key to preventing the further spread of AIS in local water resources.”
