(WAUKESHA, WI) – On Friday, October 18, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Waukesha County will host a National Adoption Day event to raise awareness of the more than 123,000 children waiting to be adopted from foster care in the United States. In Wisconsin, 7,000 children & youth are in foster care at any one time. From 1/1/19 – 9/30/19, 11 Waukesha County children in out-of-home care have reached legal permanence through adoption.
