The Zoning Code applies to the Townships of Oconomowoc and Ottawa. The Code is designed to provide standards for land development to provide for adequate sanitation, drainage, safety, convenience of access, the preservation and promotion of the environment, property values and general attractiveness.
The Shoreland and Floodland Protection Ordinance applies to lands in unincorporated Townships within 1,000 feet of a lake and 300 feet of a river or stream or the 100 year floodplain, whichever is greater. In addition to the objectives of the Zoning Code, this Ordinance seeks to prevent water pollution and protect or improve the quality of lakes and streams.

The Shoreland and Floodland Subdivision Control Ordinance sets forth design standards for the division of land through the subdivision platting or certified survey map processes. The Code generally applies to lands within 1,000 feet of a lake and 300 feet of a stream in the unincorporated Townships.
