Learn to Play Hockey Classes at Eble Park Ice Arena

Eble Park Ice Arena offers learn-to-play hockey classes for children and adults at various times throughout the year. After completion of the class, players have the option to join a local hockey league.

Youth Classes:

Introduction to Ice Skating for Hockey:

This 5-week class is designed for new skaters, ages 4 to 12, who have little to no skating experience. This program will primarily focus on developing skating abilities needed for hockey. Free skate rental is available during all classes. However, it is recommended skaters bring their own.

Class Dates:

• Spring 1 Session:
  • Tuesday, March 18, 2025 through Tuesday, Apr. 15, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Spring 2 Session:
  • Tuesday, April 22, 2025 through Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Class Prerequisite:

• N/A

Registration Fee:

• $90.00 for 5-week class

Required Equipment:

• Hockey helmet with face mask
• Knee/shin pads
• Elbow pads
• Hockey gloves

Recommended Equipment:

• Breezers/hockey pants
• Shoulder pads

Learn to Play Hockey for Kids:

This 5-week program is for skaters, ages 4 to 12, who have completed "Introduction to Ice Skating for Hockey" or another learn to skate program. Using the skating skills developed in the previous program, players will add sticks and pucks to start learning the basic fundamental skills needed to join a youth hockey league. Free skate rental is available during all classes. However, we recommend skaters bring their own.

• Spring 1 Session:
  • Tuesday, March 18, 2025 through Tuesday, Apr. 15, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

• Spring 2 Session:
  • Tuesday, April 22, 2025 through Tuesday, May 20, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Class Prerequisite:

• Completion of a Introduction to Ice Skating Class.

Registration Fee:

• $90.00 for 5-week class

• Hockey shin and elbow pads
• Hockey gloves
• Breezers/hockey pants
• Shoulder pads
• Hockey stick
• Hockey jersey (included in class fee).

Eble In-House Beginner Youth Hockey Program:

The Eble Park Ice Arena In-House program is for players, ages 5-14, that have completed a hockey development program and are not registered to play on a team in a youth hockey association.The emphasis in this program will be on skill development. During the program hockey drills will be run that include skating, stick handling, shooting & passing as well as scrimmages. Full hockey equipment is required to participate.

Class Prerequisite:

• Completion of a Introduction to Ice Skating Class and Learn to Play Hockey/Hockey Development Program. 

Class Dates:

• Program resumes in Spring 2025. Check back later for more info!

Registration Fee:

• $200.00 for 10-week class

• The Eble In-House program is not in association with Waukesha County Youth Hockey, WAHA, or USA Hockey.
• Program is not intended for children who currently play for a youth hockey association.
