Enjoy more than 35 miles of paved trails with unique and scenic experiences with no permit or membership: 

• Bugline Trail
• Lake Country Trail
• NEW Fox River Trail
• New Berlin Trail 

Mountain Bike Trails
Minooka Park's single-track mountain bike trails are great for riders of all levels. A Parks annual membership or daily permit is required for each vehicle at Minooka Park.

• NEW Fox River Trail

  Fox River Trail

  The Fox River Trail is a three-mile trail between the City of Pewaukee and the City of Brookfield. It runs from a trailhead on Watertown Road in Pewaukee through scenic wetlands and woodlands and along residential neighborhoods to Brookfield Road in Brookfield. Currently, no other County Recreation Trail connects to the Fox River Trail.

• Lake Country Trail

  Lake Country Trail

  The Lake Country Trail is a 15-mile trail located on the former Milwaukee-Watertown Interurban Railway. It runs east-west through the middle of Waukesha County (north of I-94) through rolling terrain with scenic views of the mid-kettle moraine area, including the Landsberg Center trailhead, Pewaukee Lake, Naga-Waukee Park, Naga-Waukee Golf Course, Nagawicka Lake, historic City of Delafield, Upper and Lower Nemahbin Lakes, and Roosevelt Park in the City of Oconomowoc. 

  It was popular in the late 1800s as a direct link between Waukesha and the Oconomowoc Lake Country, and utilizes the Wisconsin Electric Power Company right-of-way.

• New Berlin Trail

  New Berlin Trail

  The New Berlin Trail is a seven-mile lineal recreation trail located on the Wisconsin Electric Power Company right-of-way in the City of New Berlin. It extends from S. 124th Street just south of Greenfield Ave. (State Hwy 59) at the Milwaukee-Waukesha County line to Lincoln Avenue in Waukesha.

  Connections:

  • Oak Leaf Bike Trail (Milwaukee County) in Greenfield Park.
  • Glacial Drumlin Trail (Wisconsin DNR) via city streets through Waukesha.

• Bugline Trail

  Bugline Trail

  The Bugline Trail is a 16-mile trail from Appleton Ave (S.T.H 175) in Menomonee Falls to the west end of North Lake in the Town of Merton. It owes its existence to the quarries near Lannon: Trains once hauled famed Lannon Stone from the deep limestone pits which still operate today. A look down into the quarries from the trail is an impressive sight. Further along, perhaps you'll be able to spot homes built from the Lannon Stone. Dense woods close to the trail often hide the fact that much of your ride is through suburbs.

  Tip: The Menomonee Park trailhead features bike racks, an informational kiosk, and a bicycle tune-up station.

  Minooka Park Mountain Bike Trails

  Minooka Park is home to a system of dedicated mountain bike trails (view stats and description). A destination for enthusiasts across the midwest, Minooka Park's trails are 5.1 miles of single-track trails designed for different skill levels, from beginner to advanced. The loops cover a variety of terrain. 

  A Parks annual membership or Parks daily permit is required for each vehicle at Minooka Park.

• Ice Age Trail

  Ice Age National Scenic Trail

  The Ice Age National Scenic Trail is a thousand-mile footpath that highlights these landscape features as it travels through some of the state’s most beautiful natural areas.

  The trail can be accessed from Naga-Waukee Park and the County's Monches Property.

• Bridle Trails

  Bridle Trails

  Waukesha County Park System has four beautiful parks where horseback riders can enjoy trail riding. Bridle trails are open May 1 - November 1 (or until conditions allow). Some trails may be closed due to surface conditions. Please note that Bridle Trails are shared-use trails. Be considerate of other users.

Biking in Waukesha County Parks

Unless otherwise noted, biking is permitted on all paved trails within Waukesha County Parks.
Bikes are not permitted on natural or wood-chipped trails. 
A daily permit or annual membership is required to access parks and trails.
