Bridle trails open May 1 - November 1 (as conditions allow). Trails may close due to surface conditions. 
Note: Bridle Trails are "shared use paths." Your consideration of fellow users is appreciated.

Trail Section Closure 

  • A section of the Bugline Trail between Custer Lane and Menomonee Avenue will be closed starting May 14 
  • The trail may reopen or close intermittently throughout the project, which is expected to continue through December 2026.
  • Due to the nature of the construction and surrounding infrastructure, no safe detour is available at this time.
  • This closure is necessary to allow for the safe and efficient construction of the ANR Heartland Project, a critical energy infrastructure upgrade. Learn more.
  • We are actively working with project partners to monitor the site and explore ways to improve access, provide detour options, or minimize impacts where possible.

Temporary Closure

  • Temporarily closed to the public (no access or hunting) due to wetland restoration work occurring in 2025. Work began on March 3 and will continue through late fall. Work will include a prescribed burn, earthwork, vegetation management, restoration, native seed, and native plug planting. 

Moor Downs Seasonal Update

  • The course is now open for the 2025 season.

Naga-Waukee War Memorial Seasonal Update

  • The course is now open for the 2025 season.

Trail Detour

  • Please follow detour at the Hwy 83 and Golf Road section of Lake Country Trail
  • Detour will be in place until construction is complete 

Delafield Road Restroom Building Area

  • Utility Company will be conducting vegetation management in the area. 

Mountain Bike Trails

  • Status: Trails are currently Open. 

Pavement Restoration

  • Pavement work will take place on the entrance road and in the Picnic Area 4 parking lot, beginning May 12, 2025 and is expected to last into October. Access will remain open except for short-term, temporary closures as necessary.

Park Entrance Pavement Restoration

  • Starting June 5, construction will begin to replace the asphalt park road near the entrance. Patrons will still have access to the park during construction.
  • The construction is scheduled to continue into July.

 

Road Construction

  • Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) construction on WIS 83 is planned from April 7 through the end of October, spanning from Golf Road to Vettelson Road.
  • Despite the ongoing work, access to the park will remain open. To ensure safe and efficient access, please follow the posted signage and detours.

Road Construction Continued

  • Notice that the City of Delafield will begin road construction on Mariner Drive on June 23 and lasting several weeks.
  • During this time, the Park System recommends all patrons use the main Naga-Waukee Park entrance (on Hwy 83) for park and lake access use.
  • Your lake access daily permit or annual membership will be accepted through the main entrance. For more information on the Mariner Drive road construction please contact the City of Delafield: https://www.cityofdelafieldwi.gov/

Beach Playground

  • Playground has been removed due to safety concerns
  • Restoration of the area is in progress
  • Avoid area and proceed with caution during construction

Trail Section Closure

  • A repaving project involving HWY 59 will close a section of the New Berlin Trail, approximately 960 feet west of WIS-59 through Springdale Road.
  • Construction is expected to start in May of 2025 and continue through late 2026. Please visit the Wisconsin DOT website for more details.

Pavement Restoration

  • Pavement work will take place on the access road and in the parking lot, beginning June 2, 2025 and is expected to last into October. Access will remain open except for short-term, temporary closures as necessary. Parking may be limited at times.

Yellow Trail Partial Closure

  • The Yellow Trail is partially closed until further notice due to poor trail conditions.

Cross Country Ski Trails
Trails marked as Cross Country (X-C) Ski Trails are designated for X-C Skiing only through March 30. They are not open to hikers, walkers, or other activities, regardless of snow conditions.

Snowshoe Rentals at Retzer Nature Center

Unavailable: Snowshoe rentals are available as conditions allow. Rentals are currently unavailable.

Note: Snowshoes and other traction devices are not permitted on boardwalks or on paved/concrete surfaces.
