Presiding Judge Allows Brewers Attire in Court
Court Staff Celebrate Brewers World Series Win
Presiding Judge Maxwell enters Order celebrating the Milwaukee Brewers historic World Series Championship by allowing the wearing of Brewers attire in the courtroom. Waukesha County Presiding Judge Michael P. Maxwell, in consultation with the Chief Judge and the Clerk of Court, has entered the attached Order allowing the wearing of Brewer attire in Waukesha County courtrooms until the completion of the official Milwaukee Brewers victory parade.
“While everyday our courts deal with very serious issues, like child custody disputes and holding criminals
accountable, the last few weeks have seen Brewer fever in many off the record conversations between lawyers, parties and court staff,” Maxwell stated. “We thought that this could be one small way we could recognize this historic achievement by the Milwaukee Brewers organization and let folks in the court system participate in celebrating with all Wisconsin,” he added. Judge Maxwell was appointed the Presiding Judge of Waukesha County earlier this year. He has served on the Waukesha County Circuit Court since first being elected in 2015 and re-elected by Waukesha County voters in 2021. He currently serves as Judge for Branch 8 and has presided over matters in the civil, criminal, family, probate, and guardianship divisions throughout his judicial career. Waukesha County is part of Wisconsin's Third Judicial Administrative District and is served by twelve circuit court judges. As Presiding Judge, Judge Maxwell helps ensure the continued efficient operation of the court system while supporting the judiciary's mission of delivering impartial justice and maintaining public confidence in the courts.
