County Board and Community Mourn Loss of Richard Morris
Supervisor Morris served on the Board since 2012

Tuesday, April 29, 2025, Waukesha County Board Chairman James Heinrich announced with great sadness the unexpected passing of District 3 County Board Supervisor Richard Morris.
Supervisor Morris served on the Waukesha County Board since 2012. He was a dedicated public servant and a respected member of the Board, serving on the Finance Committee much of his tenure, as well as Public Works and the Land Use, Parks, and the Environment Committees. His expertise and careful stewardship played a vital role in guiding the County. Additionally, Morris represented Waukesha County on the Wisconsin River Rail Transit Commission and the Waukesha County Park and Planning Commission, reflecting his deep commitment to the region’s growth and well-being.
On behalf of Waukesha County, we thank Supervisor Morris for his dedication to public service. We are thinking of his family at this difficult time as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
County Executive Paul Farrow released the following statement:
"I am deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Supervisor Richard Morris. Elected to the County Board in 2012 representing Merton and Lisbon, Supervisor Morris brought steady leadership and integrity to his service. His nearly five decades on the Town of Merton Plan Commission, fourteen years as Town Chairman, and continued role as Town Supervisor reflected his deep commitment to our community. A lifelong resident and retired farmer, he was a strong advocate for Waukesha County and our agricultural heritage. It was a privilege to work alongside Supervisor Morris for many years. We thank him for his public service and extend our heartfelt condolences to his family during this difficult time."
Chairman Jim Heinrich also spoke about serving on the board with Morris saying, "For more than a decade, Richard Morris served Waukesha County with integrity. His wisdom, perspective, insight, and devotion to our community will be greatly missed. It has been an honor to serve alongside him, and his sudden loss leaves us all deeply saddened."
