Our Mission
The Waukesha County Medical Examiner’s Office strives to provide the highest quality death investigations to ensure the safety, health and welfare of the community.
Our Office
The Medical Examiner who leads our office is a board-certified Forensic Pathologist. This position is an appointed, not elected, county official.
Our office is an impartial, independent investigating agency, separate from any law enforcement or health care facility. We investigate deaths based on Wisconsin State law (WI 979.01), then document and medically evaluate reportable cases in a thorough, professional and sensitive manner.
