Meet Your Interim County Executive
About Tom Farley
Interim Waukesha County Executive Tom Farley was sworn into office July 30, 2026, following unanimous approval by the County Board of Supervisors. Farley was nominated to fill the vacancy following the passing of County Executive Paul Farrow.
Farley retired in 2016 after a distinguished 31-year career with Waukesha County, serving 25 of those years as Corporation Counsel, the county’s lead attorney. Over the decades, he was an integral adviser during three of the county’s most significant structural transitions: the transition to the County Executive form of government, the 2005 interim transition following the resignation of Dan Finley, and the 2015 leadership transfer from Dan Vrakas to Paul Farrow.
Farley, a graduate of Marquette University and Marquette University Law School, currently serves as an alternate on the county’s Ethics Board. He will serve in this role until a countywide special election is held on Tuesday, December 15, 2026.
Tom lives in Pewaukee with his wife Kathy and they have two daughters.

Tom Farley actively champions Waukesha County’s interests helping shape policies that benefit residents, taxpayers, and public and private partners.
Governance & Fiscal Responsibility
Farley will work closely with all county departments and the County Board of Supervisors to ensure high-quality service delivery while helping guide Waukesha County through the 2027 county budget process. His focus will remain on protecting taxpayers, maintaining fiscal responsibility, prioritizing essential services such as public safety, and supporting a balanced, sustainable budget for the county.
