How to apply:
Effective January 20, 2026, the Waukesha County Department of Public Works will process Oversize/Overweight permits using Oxcart Permits, a web-based permitting system. No paper, email, or faxed applications will be accepted.
Applicants must register via the Oxcart website. Registration is free.
Fees:
- Single Trip, submitted three (3) business days or more prior to transport: $75
- Single Trip, submitted less than three (3) business days prior to transport: $125
Oxcart includes a convenience charge and credit card processing fee in addition to Waukesha County's permit fee. All permit fees are non-refundable.
Payment Procedures:
Prior to application submittal, applicants enter payment details. The credit card is pre-authorized for the total amount - including permit fees, Oxcart service fees, and credit card processing fees. Applicants must agree to the terms and refund policy. Once the permit is approved by Waukesha County, the permit will be issued directly to the applicant via Oxcart Permits.
