Happy New Year!  2008 sure went out with a wintry bang.  My once great office view of the control tower, tie down area and Runway 18/36 has been interrupted by the snow capped Rocky Mountain range!  Please contact me if you feel any areas need additional attention from our plow crew.

Airport security continues to dominate the local and national general aviation agenda.  I appreciate those of you who are complying with proper gate entry and exit procedures.  Until new gates are installed later this year, these procedures are our best line of defense against unauthorized vehicles entering the airport grounds and causing problems.

Tired of interpolating weather forecasts from Madison and Milwaukee?  As of March 31st, 2009, KUES will be the proud home of our own Terminal Aerodrome Forecast!  The next time you see Air Traffic Manager Andy Groth, thank him for initiating the process for acquiring this valuable flight planning tool.

Jack Safro, aviation and auto enthusiast, passed away on Monday, January 5th.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who morn his loss.

I sincerely hope you and your families enjoyed a wonderful and safe holiday season.  Here’s to warmer weather and more flying!
