Free admission for our Military Personnel and Veterans on Military and Veterans Recognition Day, Sunday, August 15, 2010 ONLY.  Voucher ticket available at your County Veterans Office.  A Voucher Ticket plus Military ID, VA ID, or a DD214 will be required for free admission at the Fair.  For further information, contact your County Veterans Service Office.

This is a must event for men and women of all Military Branches of service who have retired or are about to retire from service to their country.  At this free information benefits open house retirees will learn about Tricare for Life, combat related special compensation, long term health care, assistance in obtaining military medals and records, education benefits and employment opportunities.

FIRST ANNUAL FISHER HOUSE BENEFIT RIDE

Mount up and join us for a ride with a purpose.  All proceeds will go the support Milwaukee’s own future Fisher House.

Registration and Breakfast 8:00 A.M. – 10-A.M., marshall at 10:00 A.M., ride 10:00 A.M. – 12:30 P.m. to the Milwaukee VA grounds (the future site of the Fisher House).  After the ride we will lighten the mood back at the House with lunch, live music, beer, and tons of vendors.

4TH ANNUAL STATE WIDE WOMEN’S VETERANS CONFERENCE

WHERE:    WISCONSIN MILITARY ACADEMY
                    FORT MCCOY, WI

Keynote speaker will be First Sergeant Pam Luce, United States Army, Retired.  In addition to the keynote address, lectures will be given on PTSD, suicide prevention and changes to women's health care through the USDVA.  The convention will also feature women-only workshops on combat-related trauma and mililtary sexual trauma.  Other wellness activities will include biofeedback training, on-site massages and an opportunity to explore the therapeutic value of diving.
