Park Location
Mukwonago Park is nestled in the southwest quarter of Waukesha County on C.T.H. LO, approximately 3 miles west of the Village of Mukwonago.
Park Amenities
This 222-acre park site includes a high ridge, formed during the last glacial period, which stretches nearly the length of the park. Park visitors of all ages will be delighted to discover the park's commanding view of the rolling terrain and farmlands typical of southeastern Wisconsin. The oak opening ridge is covered with presettlement vegetation including Burr Oak, Shagbark Hickory, and ground cover of prairie plants. While strolling through the Oak Savannah ridge, you may spot a Red-tailed Hawk or Turkey Vulture, a known specie to this park's habitat.
RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES
Swimming: The beach, adjacent to the 16-acre spring fed pond, and the beach house are open June thru August with lifeguards on duty daily.
Picnicking: Come for a quiet picnic at one of our family picnic areas or reserve a picnic area for your family reunion or business party.
Fishing: Bring your fishing pole for an ideal family-oriented fishing opportunity. We encourage and support the catch and release of fish, so that many people can enjoy the excitement and thrill of catching fish from the pond. You can catch Bass, Bluegill, Perch, or Crappies.
Camping: Come to the park during the day and stay the night at either the 6 reserved group camp sites or pop your tent at one of the 30 sites in the first come, first serve family camping area.
Nature Hiking: Experience the natural wonders by hiking the nature trail. This - mile trail offers different levels for all hiking or walking enthusiasts.
Sledding: Bring your kids & your sleds for a great winter experience - sledding!
Picnic Areas: Reservation Request
Four reservable picnic shelters are available throughout the year with electric, restrooms, grills, and sand volleyball (Other amenities depending on area).
Building Rentals: Reservation Request
The recreation center can be rented for youth overnights in the off season (Nov. - Mar.) This heated facility has refrigerator, stove, sink, and indoor restrooms.
