Park Amenities
Minooka Park has a refreshingly tranquil atmosphere with trails that lead you farther from the city and further into nature. Enjoy a day at the beach or take a walk through the miles of wooded trails. Maybe you will catch a glimpse of the abundant spring ephemeral or variety of songbirds such as fly catchers or scarlet tanagers. See the scenic fall colors as stands of blazing deciduous hardwoods burst into their autumn reds, yellows and oranges. In winter, the park becomes an outdoor enthusiast's frosty paradise with miles of groomed cross-country ski trails and a spacious sledding hill.

Dog Exercise Area: With financial support from the Waukesha Kennel Club, and the Cities of Waukesha and New Berlin, a 3.8 acre small breed and a 11.9 acre large breed dog exercise area was opened in 2007. The area has outdoor restrooms available for use.

RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

Swimming:
The 3.5-acre swimming pond has 220 feet of sand beach, a sandpit volleyball w/net, beach house with indoor restrooms, changing rooms and vending machines.  Please see our Water Quality page for daily beach availability - http://www.waukeshacounty.gov/defaultwc.aspx?id=40458.

Fishing: Bring your fishing pole for an ideal family-oriented fishing opportunity. We encourage and support the catch and release of fish, so that many people can enjoy the excitement and thrill of catching fish from the pond. You can catch trout, bass, bluegill, perch or crappies in both summer and winter. Please note, a fishing license is required in all Waukesha County Parks.

Picnicking: Come for a quiet picnic at one of our family picnic areas or reserve a picnic area for your family reunion or business party.

Nature Hiking: Take a hike on a turf or wood-chipped trail and experience nature. Many different levels for all hiking or walking enthusiasts.

Archery: Get ready for hunting season by using one of the archery ranges with targets and raised platforms.

Geocaching: Try your hand at a high tech game of treasure hunting using a GPS to hide and seek containers with other participants. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups and is a great way to enjoy the outdoors.

Horse Back Riding: Bring your horse and enjoy the bridle trails from May 1st to Nov. 1st.

X-C Skiing: The cross-country ski trails are expertly groomed and tracked weekly for both skating and diagonal techniques. There are 3 loops that total 6 miles on gently rolling terrain.

Sledding: Bring your kids for a great winter experience - sledding!
