VOLUNTEER SERVICES

The mission of Volunteer Services is to promote health, self-sufficiency, and an improved quality of life for Health and Human Services clients and other county citizens, We can accomplish this with people helping people through volunteerism, education and fundraising. In partnership and coordination with other community resources, organizations and our trained volunteers, we provide for some basic human needs such as clothing, emergency funds, education, and transportation.

Volunteer Services offers you the opportunity to get involved in your community and find greater meaning in life by helping others.  We have numerous opportunities to match schedules, interests, and experience.  We will work with you to find the perfect opportunity!

Volunteer Opportunities Available to You:

AODA Volunteer Speaker- Speak with and act as a mentor to those with alcohol, drug dependency and other addictions.  This is an incredible opportunity to gain as much as you give

Emergency Aid Assistant- Assist with efforts to serve clients in additional ways.  Includes assisting with Marcus Ticket Sales, Brewers Concession Stands, flyers and letters, bake sales, and more

Office Assistant- Assist with computer data entry, filing, mailings, billings, and more.  Opportunities are ongoing or as-needed

Recognizing Outstanding Kids (ROKs) Volunteer- Help children utilizing our services discover and recognize their creative potential.  Assist with art and craft workshops or our annual art show set-up and day-of events.  Flexible schedule with a wide array of opportunities!

Special Projects- Assist with one-time or short-term projects, such as painting, graphic design, research projects, presentations, and more.  Projects change on ongoing basis.  Schedule changes with each project.

Volunteer Driver- Provide transportation services to infants, children, teens, and adults, and connect them with services such as medical and dental appointments, visitation with birth families, therapy appointments, court appointments, and mentoring opportunities. Opportunities are available Monday-Friday, including weekday and some evenings. Flexible hours and you are reimbursed for mileage.

Youth Sheltercare Mentor- Change a youth’s future when you volunteer as a mentor in our juvenile shelter care program.  Youth ages 10-17 gain life, social, and communication skills as they work with you on arts and crafts, cooking, or other projects.  Flexible schedule, with evenings and weekends available.

Youth to Discover Program Assistant- Assist in a variety of ways with our youth and Carroll University mentoring program.  Assist with fundraising efforts, setting up events, and marketing of the program.

1) Contact our Volunteer Coordinator to see if one of the options might be a good match for you.
2) Complete our Application process, which varies with each position.
3) Get trained for your position and start making a difference in someone’s life!
