Hours of Operation

Subject Area Workshops
Workshops regarding divorce procedure or post-judgment subjects are held in CG-6 of the Waukesha County Courthouse. Pre-registration is NOT required, but check-in begins at 2:30 pm.  A resource fee may apply at check-in. Workshops begin at 3:00 p.m. sharp. These workshops generally act as the gateway to the Family Court Self-Help Services.

Divorce I: Getting Started
Learn the divorce/legal separation process and related legal issues and how to choose the correct forms and file your paperwork to begin.
1st Tuesday, 3rd & 4th Wednesday of each month

Divorce II: Preparing the Final Paperwork
Learn the final procedural steps to properly prepare for your Pre-Trial Conference, review all necessary forms, and discuss legal issues and possible pitfalls in completing the divorce/legal separation process.
2nd Wednesday & 4th Tuesday of each month

Post-Judgment: Modifying or Enforcing a Court Order or Judgment                                                    Learn procedural steps and options to use to request a change to your current court order or judgment when the other party agrees, and when they will not, and how to inform the court that the other party has violated or failed to comply with a court order or judgement. 
2nd & 3rd Tuesday and 1st Wednesday of each month.

Appointments
Our appointments are limited to a maximum of 30 minutes and are generally booked at least one week in advance.  Appointments are generally reserved for individuals who have attended a seminar and paid the annual resource fee as noted below.  To make an appointment, please call 262-548-7524 to leave a message with your name and case number. Your call will be returned within two business days or sooner to set your appointment.

Call-ins
Some questions are of a more limited nature and may only take a few minutes to answer. Therefore, call-in services are available.  Due to volume, calls are limited to 5 minutes each.  If you get forwarded immediatioly to our recording during our call-in times, please hang up and dial again as we are assisting other customers.  We appreciate your patience.

Family Legal Clinic
The Family Legal Clinic provides individuals with family court related legal questions with 20 minutes of legal advice with a volunteer attorney.  These appointments are reserved for individuals who have accessed the Court Self-Help Center, but are in need of assistance beyond what we can provide. The annual resource fee applies. Appointments are limited to 20 minutes.

Annual Resource Fees
A $25.00 annual resource fee is required, which covers the following services for one year from the date it is paid:

  • All forms and form packets
  • Subject area workshops to review forms and court procedures
  • Appointments with a Customer Service Representative for questions and form review
  • Appointments with a Volunteer Attorney, if legal questions arise
  • Calls during our phone-in hours

Each party seeking assistance from the Court Self-Help Program will be required to pay the resource fee with the exception of divorce or legal separation joint petitioners and parties filing post-judgment stipulations. In those cases with joint petitioners, only one party isrequired to pay the resource fee.  In those cases in which a post-judgment stipulation is sought, the annual resource fee may also be waived.
