The ADRC of Waukesha County Invites Applications for Advisory Board Membership
If you're 60+ years old, an adult with a disability, a family caregiver or a passionate community member, we invite you to consider joining our Advisory Board to support the mission of ADRC of Waukesha County.
The Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) of Waukesha County is a reliable and objective hub for information across diverse programs and services committed to empowering older adults and adults with disabilities and their support systems. We support county residents in understanding options, boosting self-sufficiency, and delaying costly long-term care needs. We also serve as the singular access point for publicly funded long-term care programs, such as Family Care, IRIS, Family Care Partnership, and PACE.
The primary function of the Advisory Board is to guide the ADRC staff regarding its service offerings, priorities, and strategic directions. Every board member offers valuable insights and viewpoints from their respective communities.
Responsibilities of Advisory Board members include:
- Identifying community service needs
- Providing and gathering feedback on current programs and services
- Fostering community partnerships
- Advocating for older adults and individuals with disabilities
- Serving as community ambassadors
- Regularly attending monthly meetings and participating in related events as available
The Advisory Board meets the first Thursday each month, 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM, at the Waukesha County Health and Human Services building. Terms last three years, with an option for renewal.
Candidates should submit a volunteer application and Cover Letter detailing their background and motivations to HHSVolunteers@waukeshacounty.gov or call 262-548-7831 for questions.
By engaging with the Advisory Board, members can significantly impact critical service areas and strengthen community support for Waukesha County’s older adults and adults with disabilities.
