WHAT WE DO

Welcome to the website of the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department. This website gives us an opportunity to share with all of the citizens of Waukesha County, the many aspects and complexities of the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department and the services we provide.

With almost 370 employees and a $37 Million budget, the challenge of managing staff and finances is a significant responsibility.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is comprised of a number of different divisions, including the Detective Bureau, Process Court Services, Courtroom Security, General Patrol, Inmate Security and Administrative Services. Certainly, the focus of any police agency is the safety and security of our community.

2011 was a very challenging year throughout Waukesha County and the Sheriff’s Department was no exception. Declining financial resources and changing demographics made for difficult budget choices. My commanders and I however, continue to re-tool, re-think and re-prioritize many of our services. Our demand for service continues to increase and our jail population continues to grow. Our entire staff at the Sheriff’s Department is committed to solving these service related issues and provide all of our citizens with the highest level of law enforcement they have come to expect.

As we move into 2012, our challenges will continue. Nevertheless, we are prepared to meet these challenges head on and look forward to continuing those positive relationships we have established, not only with our citizens in the county, but all of those communities within Waukesha County we serve.

Sincerely,
Trawicki Signature

Daniel Trawicki, Sheriff
