Invite a specialist from Waukesha County to host a fun, interactive presentation on a variety of topics. These presentations are great for a gathering of friends, a lunch & learn at work, a neighborhood block party or book club, or at a regular Kiwanis or other community group gathering. Municipal contacts can also schedule these meetings for their local library or community outreach programs. - Where is Away?
When you put your blue bin full of recyclables out on the curb, the journey has just begun! Learn all about what happens to your recyclables, what they get turned into, and how recycling earns your community money! This interactive presentation comes with tons of products to show and tips on why recycling is so important for our environment and community. This presentation can be done at your location or at our Materials Recycling Facility. At the facility we can give plant tours to those above 6th grade.
- Green Living Party
Living ‘green’ is a very popular catchphrase in today’s culture. Have an expert from Waukesha County come and share a variety of ways to reduce your carbon footprint. You and your guests will figure out your carbon footprints and then focus on 5 areas that you can make little changes to green your life. Topics include food, transportation, energy use, housing, and most importantly, products we use.
- Green Cleaning Party
Have you tried to figure out what was in your household cleaners lately? It is not easy! Gather a group of friends, neighbors, co-workers, or family and invite a specialist from Waukesha County to discover what toxins we clean with every day. Also, as a make-and-take, create several toxic-free alternatives to use around your own home.

Get in on the fun this summer by scheduling a Green Garden Party! Parties can be tailored to your needs and focus on composting, grasscycling, yard waste, leaf mulching or water-wise and organic gardening. It's free, and there is absolutely no selling involved. Plus, there are great gifts for hosts, and your guests will have the chance to win door prizes!

Are you stumped with what to do with all the leaves that fall brings? Invite one of our specialists out to show you a wide array of alternative lawn care options. Learn the basics of mulching and composting. These practices save money and time. Also, these practices improve the quality of your soil and air.
