HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE DROP-OFF SITESWaukesha County operates 4 year-round household hazardous waste (HHW) drop-off sites for county residents and 4 special one-day collections in spring and fall in Brookfield, Delafield, Mukwonago and Oconomowoc. All sites are free to Waukesha County residents with proof of residency e.g. driver's license, tax bill. Click on map locations for more information on each HHW site.

Generally, waste is considered hazardous if it is: Ignitable (i.e. burns readily) Corrosive Reactive (i.e. explosive) Waste may also be considered hazardous if it contains certain toxic chemicals May be labeled with key words such as: Caution, Poison, Warning, Danger, Flammable, Combustible, Corrosive (A detailed explanation of Hazardous Waste)
Product Exchange Program: Cleaning, automotive, and garden products can be donated by residents to the ProductExchange Program for other residents to take home and repurpose. This free program is available at all of the county's permanent HHW sites. Quantities and types of materials available vary, and participants will be required to sign a liability waiver and standard release form.
