Richard earned both his BS and MS in Agriculture Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Professionally, Richard spent eight years teaching vocational agriculture before transitioning into dairy and cash crop farming. Now retired from farming, he still works part time to Proven Power, Inc., a lawn and agriculture equipment supplier in Waukesha and Oconomowoc, where his wealth of experience is valued. For nearly fifty years, Richard has served on the Town of Merton Plan Commission and continues to do so today. Richard's dedication to his community is further evidenced by his 14-year tenure as Town of Merton Chairman and his current position as Town Supervisor.

Richard has been married to his wife Lois since 1965 and together they have a daughter, son-in-law, and a grandson. He is an active member of St. Teresa Catholic Church and an adjunct of the American Legion Post #289. Richard is also a member of Farmers for Lake Country, advocating for sustainable agricultural practices. Richard's commitment to regional development extends to his role on the Wisconsin River Rail Transit Commission (WRRTC). In his leisure time, Richard enjoys the tranquility of their condominium on Little Muskego Lake where he spends quality time with his family. He also finds pleasure in travel, snowmobiling, and indulging in his hobby of model railroading.

Morris serves on the Wisconsin River Rail Transit Commission (WRRTC) whose mission is to preserve and protect the publicly-owned railroad corridors throughout the region by providing quality and reliable access to freight rail service. WRRTC helps communities in southern Wisconsin be economically competitive through connection to the national rail system.
