The purpose of this home page is to inform the community about the Waukesha County District Attorney's Office and to provide a means of interacting with the District Attorney's office via a remote location.

Brad was elected Waukesha County District Attorney in 2006. As District Attorney, he supervises 15 other attorneys and nearly three dozen support staff. As Chief Law Enforcement Officer for Waukesha County, he is responsible for prosecuting all crimes occurring in the county.

He began his career as a prosecutor during his internship in the Waukesha County District Attorney’s Office in 1989. In 1990, he was sworn in as an Assistant District Attorney and served in that position for the next 16 years. The largest part of his career has been focused on prosecution of sexual assault and child abuse. As part of his commitment to protecting our children, Brad was a founding member of the Waukesha County Child Advocacy Center Task Force. The team opened the Big Yellow House, Waukesha County’s first Child Advocacy Center, in April 2006 and Brad co-chairs the Center’s Steering Committee. In 2006, the Wisconsin Association of Victim and Witness Professionals named Brad “Professional of the Year” for his commitment to helping sexual assault victims.  Brad also worked with ProHealth Care in the development of Waukesha County’s first Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Program.

Brad grew up in the Town of Vernon and is a 1983 graduate of Mukwonago High School. He went on to UW Waukesha and UW Milwaukee, where he graduated with Commencement Honors with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1990.

Brad enjoys being active in his home community. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of the Waukesha Food Pantry, Interfaith Senior Programs (formerly the Interfaith Caregiving Network), the Pregnancy Support Connection (formerly the UP Connection), the UW-Waukesha Foundation and the Honorable Marianne E. Becker Memorial Fund for Restorative Justice. He previously served as Treasurer and Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Addiction Resource Council and continues to serve on their Advisory Board.

Brad is a founding member of the Waukesha County Victim Impact Panel for repeat intoxicated drivers. He also serves on the Advisory Boards of the Potawatomi Council Boy Scouts and has worked closely with the 180 Juvenile Diversion Program, a second-chance opportunity for young non-violent offenders.   Brad is President of the PARC (Preventing Alcohol-Related Crashes) Task Force and President of Waukesha County Crime Stoppers. He serves on the Human Concerns Committee at St. William Parish in Waukesha. Brad is an active member of Rotary International and the Waukesha County Bar Association.  He is an Instructor at Waukesha County Technical College and regularly gives presentations at continuing education conferences statewide for attorneys, law enforcement officers, educators, business organizations and child protection workers.  He most enjoys his opportunities to talk about his work and safety issues with young people.

Most importantly, Brad and his wife Sandi have been married since 1996 and have two wonderful daughters.  In his spare time, Brad plays in several rock and roll bands and is a Harley Davidson enthusiast.
