Fox River General Information
The 257-acre park represents an outstanding area for providing a feeling of wilderness and solitude. No matter what time of the year one visits the park, the view and activity is ever-changing; spring brings delicate wildflowers, summer produces a wooded canopy for a hike through the forest, fall offers a breath taking color display, and winter donates snow that glistens in the sun. The abundance of wildlife provides great opportunities for nature study and the exploration of the natural world. Many wildflowers and bird species can be viewed along the trails that wind through the park. The miles of paved trails draw hikers, bikers, and rollerbladers throughout the summer to offer a variety of trail experiences.
Walking: Walk, jog or rollerblade the 2.25 mile paved trail that winds through the park and along the river in both wooded and open areas. This trail is great for families out on a leisurely walk.
Hiking: Experience nature by hiking through the 4.3 miles of turf and wood chipped trails that run along the Fox River. Many different levels for all hiking or walking enthusiasts.

Observation decks: The park enjoys two observation decks. One overlooks the south end of the Deep Marsh and the other is located along the path beside the Fox River.
Fishing: Bring your fishing pole for an ideal family-oriented fishing opportunity from the edge of the Fox River. We encourage and support the catch and release of fish, so that many people can enjoy the excitement and thrill of catching fish from the river. Please note, a fishing license is required in all Waukesha County parks.
Canoeing: A canoe launch is located along the Fox River near the family picnic area. There are no additional park user fees for the use of the launch.
