Park System Calendar of Events

July is Park and Recreation Month, as identified by the National Recreation and Park Association.

Get out, get active and get healthy in your Waukesha County Parks, and discover over 9,000 acres of parks, golf courses, open space, nature center, trails, boat launches, golf courses, ice arenas, multi-purpose exposition park, and more.  July 5, 2014 is “Hop a Park Day”, and celebrates the opportunities for you and your family to get out to the parks in your county and community, and to enjoy public space set aside for you to be active and get healthy, and to simply enjoy relaxation.

Check out your parks in your community and county, and get hopping.

August 14 at 3 pm -- Minooka Park, Mukwonago Park

August 17 at 7 pm -- Naga-Waukee Park

August 21 at 7 pm -- Muskego Park

August 24 at 7 pm -- Menomonee Park

August 27 at 7 pm -- Fox Brook Park



Bugline Trail Improvement Project

Starting June 2nd, sections of the Bugline Trail between STH 164 in Sussex & Shady Lane in Menomonee Falls will be Temporarily CLOSED for Improvements. Please plan accordingly. Click here for Bugline Trail Improvement Construction News


Dog Exercise Areas at Minooka Park and Nashotah Park are open.  

The Mukwonago Dog Exercise Area will officially open after a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 9th at 9am. Both large and small breed areas are open for limited use, but please be aware that we may have to close it due to continued construction.  Small breed dogs are allowed in the large breed area, on owner’s discretion.  Follow us @waukeshacoparks on twitter for up-to-date information.

Dogs are welcome at Waukesha County Parks and must be licensed and leashed; owners must properly dispose of pet waste.
Sorry, no dogs allowed at Retzer Nature Center.

Nashotah Park's Dog Exercise Area will close 10 am - 2 pm on Wednesday August 6, 2014 for maintenance. Thanks!
