Around the Table - Nourishing Families


Around the Table logoIn the Around the Table- Nourishing Families program, participants enjoy conversation, reflection, preparing a recipe together, and learning holistic skills to care for their family's nutritional well-being. 

UW-Madison Extension FoodWIse Nutrition Educators teach this 6-week series to adult participants in group settings at various community sites. It is available in English or Spanish and FREE to families with children.

Lesson Topics:

  1. Connecting with Each Other-- Explore personal food and cooking history.
  2. Nutrition and Stress-- Learn about good nutrition for daily physical and mental well-being.
  3. Healthy and Budget-Friendly Shopping-- Consider how to navigate the grocery store and choose nutritious products.
  4. Toxic Stress and Family Health--  Learn how stress affects our ability to be healthy and what to do about it.
  5. Family Resilience and Nourishment--  Brainstorm habits for ourselves and our families.
  6. Nourishment in Our Communities-- Explore how supporting each other is an important part of good nourishment and health.
