(WAUKESHA, WI) – The Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use invites all interested parties to attend the public information meeting regarding a special archery hunt at Nashotah Park. This meeting will be an open house allowing interested parties an opportunity to interact with Waukesha County staff, a DNR and Waukesha County Sheriff representative and ask questions or provide comments.
Date: Wednesday, October 4, 2017
Location: Nashotah Park Office, located at W330 N5113 County Highway C, in Nashotah
A special archery hunt will take place in Nashotah Park, November 27 to December 17, 2017, offering a seasonal recreational activity that can be done in a safe and beneficial way. The goal of the special archery hunt is to reduce the deer herd that is preventing native plants and seedlings from regenerating forested areas in the Park.
Nashotah Park will remain open for all non-hunting recreational use during the special hunt. Signs will be posted at all entrances to the park. Archery hunting will not be allowed near the picnic shelters, maintenance buildings and Dog Exercise Areas. Hunters must remain in the designated hunting areas.
Information about the Special Archery Hunt in Nashotah Park and other Waukesha County hunting lands can be found online at www.waukeshacounty.gov/hunting.
